I back up my blogs regularly using a free plugin WP DB Backup. I can always restore my blog to the last 13, if anything happens. I use WP Security Scan plugin that is free to scan my site regularly and WordPress Firewall to block asks that are suspicious-looking to fix malware problems free.
Use strong passwords - Do your best to use a password, alpha-numeric, with upper and lower case and special characters. Easy to remember passwords are also easy to guess!
